Perpetually Redefining Performance
Theater Concentrators...
Spend over three years working to understand the vital role of theater arts in our global society. They are immersed in the works of contemporary, culturally relevant playwrights as well as those in the canon. Students examine all of the ways in which this particular art form informs, and is informed by, the challenges, moral dilemmas, tragedies, beauty and splendor that comprise the human condition. Students also engage in practical elements of theater. They write, produce, direct and act in their own work, which has been presented in our very own black box theater, site-specific performance spaces like Weeksville, as well as other venues. Theater concentrators also learn lighting/sound design and production as well as stage management in preparation for pre-professional training. PBATs in this area include the creation, presentation, analysis and critique of theatrical work.
